Cipolletti undergoes rapid urban and industrial expansion

Cipolletti is experiencing significant urban and economic transformation, marked by a surge in construction and private investment driven by the economic activity of Vaca Muerta. Data from the Colegio de Arquitectos indicates that in the first nine months of 2026, construction registered 147,469.63 square meters, reaching 92.3% of the total recorded in 2025. Notably, industrial and storage construction grew by 32.8% compared to the previous year, while commercial construction saw a 32.4% increase.

The city's skyline is changing with 17 buildings currently under construction, including 15 high-rise structures and two duplex complexes. These projects are concentrated in the center, San Pablo, and near access corridors.

To support this expansion, provincial and municipal authorities are investing in essential infrastructure. Through the Suelo Urbano program, over $1.34 billion is being allocated to provide water and electricity to 334 lots. Additionally, more than $4.77 billion in provincial investment is earmarked for sanitation and storm drainage works, including guttering and pipe installations in sectors such as Antártida Argentina, El Chañar, and Paso de los Libres to mitigate flooding.
