Cipolletti worker dies after falling from warehouse roof

A 29-year-old worker, identified as Abraham Alejandro Carrizo, died following a fatal workplace accident in Cipolletti, Río Negro. The incident occurred on a Friday afternoon while Carrizo was performing maintenance on a water pump at a warehouse located on Italia Street.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Carrizo was walking on the roof when he stepped on a translucent polycarbonate sheet. The material gave way under his weight, causing him to fall approximately seven meters to the ground. Emergency medical personnel from the Sistema Integral de Atención Rionegrina de Medicina de Emergencias (SIARME) responded to the scene and rushed him to the Pedro Moguillansky Hospital under a red code. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Local police, led by Javier Yáñez of Regional Unit V, have launched an investigation. Initial reports suggest the worker may have been lacking required safety equipment, such as a safety harness, at the time of the fall. Forensic experts have been deployed to the scene to conduct technical inspections and gather testimonies from coworkers to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
