Circle Internet Group announces CFO and board member departures

Circle Internet Group has announced two senior leadership departures. Chief Financial Officer Jeremy Fox-Geen will step down from his position on December 31, or sooner if a successor is appointed. Fox-Geen, who joined the company in May 2021, has served for over five years and was credited by CEO Jeremy Allaire with providing strategic insight and financial leadership during the company’s $1.2 billion initial public offering.

Simultaneously, co-founder P. Sean Neville has resigned from Circle’s board of directors, effective immediately. While the company stated Neville’s resignation was for personal reasons, analysts noted his involvement as CEO and co-founder of Catena Lab, an artificial intelligence company. The departure reduces Circle’s board from eight members to seven.

Circle has engaged an executive search firm to find a permanent replacement for Fox-Geen. According to regulatory filings, Fox-Geen will receive an aggregate cash payment of $1.05 million in monthly installments following his departure, subject to certain restrictive covenants.
