Circle to end USDC support on Noble blockchain by 2027
Circle has announced it will discontinue USDC support on the Noble blockchain as part of a transition to its next-generation cross-chain transfer protocol, CCTP V2. Because Noble will not receive the updated V2 protocol, Circle is winding down its presence on the chain to consolidate infrastructure around the newer system, which offers enhanced security and faster finality.
The phase-out will occur in several stages. New USDC minting via Circle Mint on Noble will cease on October 13, 2026. Starting October 31, 2026, burn limits for the legacy CCTP V1 protocol will begin to shrink, eventually reaching zero. The Noble USDC contract is scheduled to pause completely on January 12, 2027.
Circle has stated that all USDC on Noble remains redeemable at a 1:1 ratio. A manual redemption portal for Noble holders will open on January 13, 2027. Despite this change, Circle’s involvement with the Cosmos ecosystem remains intact, as other IBC-connected chains like Injective continue to be active partners.
