Circle's Arc blockchain mainnet to launch Sep 16 with BlackRock, Visa validators
Circle Internet Group announced that its Arc blockchain will go live on a public mainnet on September 16. The launch will be supported by a validator cohort drawn largely from traditional finance, including BlackRock, Visa, the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), Mastercard, Global Payments, ICE, MoneyGram, SBI Group, Standard Chartered, Sumitomo Corporation and others.
Circle reported second‑quarter results showing total revenue and reserve income of $701 million and a net profit of $48 million, a turnaround from a $482 million loss a year earlier. USDC circulation reached $73.3 billion and on‑chain transaction volume hit $14.8 trillion. The company also received final approval from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to operate a national trust bank, positioning the Arc network for broader corporate and capital‑market use. Day‑one applications will include DeFi protocols such as Aave, Morpho and Uniswap, with gas fees payable in USDC.
