Circle's EURC stablecoin sets activity record after EU MiCA deadline

Circle’s euro‑stablecoin EURC recorded all‑time highs in on‑chain activity immediately after the EU’s MiCA licensing deadline on July 1. Santiment data showed daily active addresses jump to 1,760 and new wallets reach 713 in a single day, the highest levels in its four‑year history.

The surge reflects growing demand for a compliant euro‑denominated token as unlicensed assets are being withdrawn from European platforms. Binance, which failed to obtain a MiCA license in time, saw roughly 70 % of its EU users move funds to self‑custody wallets, keeping the money outside the regulated framework. Circle’s French‑registered entity has expanded EURC’s technical integration on networks such as Base and Cronos, and its market cap has risen to about $430 million, underscoring the stablecoin’s role as a practical payment instrument across the EU’s 27 member states.
