Circolo Nautico di Torre del Greco sees surge in sailing interest

The Circolo Nautico di Torre del Greco reported high participation during a recent sailing open day. Nearly thirty children and adolescents took part in introductory sea sessions. Younger participants, aged 7 to 12, utilized Optimist boats under technical supervision, while older aspiring athletes enrolled in courses utilizing six Ilca boats.

Club president Gianluigi Ascione attributed the increased interest in sailing to the success of summer courses and the growing local fascination with the upcoming America’s Cup regattas in Naples. In addition to sailing, the club is expanding its rowing activities, with upcoming initiatives planned for aspiring rowers using the club’s two Costal boats.
