Circular Economy Initiatives Launch in Argentina and Catalonia
In Villa Ocampo, Buenos Aires, the nonprofit Espacio Abierto organized a community clothing‑swap fair called Espacio Circular. Residents were invited to donate gently used garments and accessories for redistribution, with the event scheduled for 8 August at Mariano Moreno 1356. The initiative promotes reuse, reduces waste and encourages local solidarity.
Separately, Catalonia opened a public consultation on a draft Waste and Circular Economy Law. The proposal, aimed at achieving a climate‑neutral region by 2050, seeks to align with upcoming EU circular‑economy directives, increase recycling rates and introduce extended producer responsibility. Stakeholders can submit comments until 15 October 2026.
