Ciro Immobile appointed head of delegation for Italy Under-16
Ciro Immobile has been appointed as the head of delegation for the Italian Under-16 national football team. The decision was made by FIGC President Giovanni Malagò following Immobile's recent retirement from professional football.
In this new role, the former Lazio striker and Euro 2020 champion will work alongside technical commissioner Giovanni Costantino. Rather than a technical coaching position, the role is described as a managerial and representative function aimed at providing young players with professional guidance, discipline, and experience. Immobile expressed his desire to ‘repay football’ by sharing the lessons he learned both on and off the pitch.
Immobile is scheduled to make his debut in this capacity at Coverciano during the Under-16 team's upcoming friendly matches against Spain, scheduled for September 15 and 17.
