Cirque du Soleil launches permanent Alizé show in Berlin
Cirque du Soleil’s new production Alizé opened as the first permanent European residence at the Theater am Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, premiering in November 2025. Artistic Director Justin Sullivan said the team spent years measuring the venue, creating 3D models and using artificial intelligence to simulate what audiences in the back rows will see.
The production employs roughly 90 staff in Berlin, including 38 technical crew and 45 artists drawn from 20 countries. A notable technical hurdle involved finding strong anchor points for the high‑wire act, which the team ultimately resolved after extensive testing in Montreal before transferring the concept to Berlin.
