Cirque du Soleil returns to Brazil with Alegría production

Cirque du Soleil has returned to Brazil with its production ‘Alegría - In a New Light’, a reimagining of the classic show that originally ran from 1994 to 2013.

The production features six Brazilian performers on the flying trapeze team. Performers Julio Cezar and Pati Kuwai described the intense lifestyle required for the troupe, noting that training often incorporates funk music and requires strict discipline regarding diet, training, and performance readiness. Kuwai highlighted the high energy of the Brazilian audience and the demanding schedule, which can include up to three performances in a single day.
