Ciryl Gane defeats Alex Pereira as Bisping eyes Gane‑Aspinall heavyweight showdown

Ciryl Gane of France knocked out Brazil's Alex Pereira in the second round of the UFC Freedom 250 event, securing an interim heavyweight title and re‑entering the division’s championship picture. After the loss, Pereira alleged fouls and publicly criticized referee Herb Dean, prompting former champion Michael Bisping to rebuke him, saying Pereira was “complaining and crying” instead of accepting the defeat.

Bisping also analysed the next possible matchup, predicting a rematch between Gane and Britain’s Tom Aspinall. He noted Aspinall’s strong grappling, including a “beautiful double leg,” and argued that despite the eye‑poke incident that halted their previous fight, Aspinall remains a credible challenger. A unification bout between Gane, now interim champion, and Aspinall, the recognized heavyweight champion, is positioned as the division’s next major contest.
