CISF and IIT Kanpur partner to enhance cybersecurity and anti-drone tech

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur to enhance its cybersecurity and drone-related technological capabilities. These partnerships aim to protect critical and strategic infrastructure from emerging technology-driven threats.

The first agreement establishes a six-week residential Cyber Security Training Programme through C3iHub, IIT Kanpur. This three-year framework will provide free training to batches of 40 nominated CISF personnel. The curriculum will cover topics including digital forensics, incident detection, disaster recovery, and threats involving Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, deepfakes, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

The second agreement focuses on the development of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in drone and anti-drone technology. This center will be established at the CISF’s Major Police Training and Recruitment Centre located in Behror, Rajasthan.
