Cisl leader Daniela Fumarola proposes fiscal reforms
Daniela Fumarola, General Secretary of the Cisl union, has outlined structural fiscal proposals for the upcoming Italian budget maneuver. Fumarola advocates for shifting the tax burden from labor to rents and super-profits to protect the purchasing power of the middle class. She specifically called for the removal of the flat tax anomaly for VAT holders earning up to 100,000 euros and dismissed the wealth tax (patrimoniale) as a “false shortcut.”
Additionally, Fumarola emphasized the importance of worker participation in corporate strategic decisions to prevent crises and promote innovation. She also highlighted the need for a strong public role in managing the decarbonization of the former Ilva plant to safeguard employment.
