Cisl Medici elects Maurizio Ristagno as new general secretary

The Cisl Medici Agrigento Caltanissetta Enna federation has announced a leadership change, electing Maurizio Ristagno as the new general secretary. Ristagno, a physician from Gela, was elected unanimously to succeed Rosario Caci, who is stepping down due to age limits. Joining the new secretariat are Carmelo Di Franco and Carla Lo Giudice.

During the general council, members discussed critical issues facing the public health sector, including the migration of professionals to private facilities and the increasing frequency of physical and verbal aggression against medical staff. The union called for structural interventions to ensure workplace safety.

In a separate tribute, the Asp di Enna has named its central meeting room in honor of the late Dr. Federico Amato. Amato was a dermatologist and a former secretary for Cisl Medici within the Asp di Enna, recognized by the union for his dual commitment to medical practice and union activities.
