Cisl unions criticize Modena and Reggio Emilia healthcare integration

Labor unions Cisl Emilia Centrale, Cisl Medici Emilia Centrale, and Cisl Fp Emilia Centrale have criticized the proposed healthcare integration between the provinces of Modena and Reggio Emilia, specifically involving Sassuolo and Scandiano. The unions argue that the strategic decision was announced without prior consultation with the medical and healthcare professionals who will be directly affected.

Union representatives expressed concern that the project might become a superficial measure to mask shortages in human and economic resources rather than a truly innovative healthcare model. They are calling for a transparent dialogue based on concrete data, including waiting lists, patient mobility, bed availability, and staffing plans, to ensure the new network is functional and properly supported by adequate personnel.
