CITA to present plant genetics research in Málaga

Researchers from the Plant Science Department of the Center for Agricultural Research and Technology of Aragon (CITA) will present 19 communications at the XII National Congress of Plant Genetic Improvement. The event is scheduled to take place in Málaga from September 28 to October 1.

The presentations include 10 oral communications and 9 posters. Key research areas include the WAMEDISS project, which focuses on the sustainable control of melon and watermelon diseases and water deficits, and the CHERRY BREED project, which investigates cherry genetic improvement regarding reproduction, phenology, maturation, and quality. Specific studies will address pathogen characterization in cucurbits and the identification of genes associated with fruit development periods in cherries.
