Saladin Citadel International Music Festival opens in Egypt

The 34th edition of the Saladin Citadel International Music and Singing Festival has commenced at the Citadel's Al-Mahka stage. Organized by the Cairo Opera House, the festival runs from August 15 to August 24.

The opening ceremony featured a musical segment titled ‘Sing for Life’ dedicated to composer Hany Shenouda, followed by performances by Egyptian harpists and singer Riham Abdel Hakim. The event also honored 10 influential figures in the Egyptian and Arab arts scenes, including Maestro Nader Abbasi, director Walid Awany, and pianist Dr. Marcel Matta.

The festival program includes a diverse lineup of artists. Upcoming performances feature Samar Tarek and Jordanian artist Aziz Marqa, as well as Sherif Mounir and Hisham Abbas, who will present a ‘Nostalgia’ themed evening. Tickets are available through the ‘Tazkarti’ electronic booking system for a symbolic price of 100 EGP.
