Citi and emPLE launch youth financial literacy programs in Lagos

Citibank Nigeria held its Global Community Day in Lagos, training more than 100 students in basic budgeting, saving and responsible financial decision‑making in partnership with Junior Achievement Nigeria. Managing Director Nneka Enwereji said the initiative expands financial capability and supports inclusive economic growth, while Junior Achievement’s Acting Executive Director Olaolu Akogun highlighted the importance of practical financial knowledge for young people.

Separately, emPLE Life Assurance and Ecobank Nigeria ran the Protecting Little Dreams Initiative on Children’s Day, encouraging children and parents to share short videos about meaningful parental actions. The campaign promoted financial literacy and insurance awareness, culminating in cash‑prize awards for five families at Ecobank’s Lagos head office. Managing Director Jolaolu Fakoya emphasized that early exposure to insurance concepts helps build a more financially secure society.
