Federal funding, including a $200 million annual Innovation Fund and HUD grants of up to $3 million, is being utilized by various local governments to deploy automated building code permitting systems. Cities such as Syracuse, New York, are seeking to implement these tools to assist developers in filing complete applications, thereby reducing the time required for manual revisions and inspections.
