Following the recent dedication of ODB Jones Way in Brooklyn, cities across the United States have continued to name streets after iconic rap artists. The Brooklyn ceremony, held in Bedford‑Stuyvesant, gathered family members, local officials and supporters to honor the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard near his grandmother’s block.

The movement began in 2009 when Queens renamed a corner Run‑DMC JMJ Way in memory of DJ Jam Master Jay. Since then, streets have been named for The Notorious B.I.G.
