Citizens detain knife attackers in Izúcar de Matamoros and Cedral

In two separate incidents in Mexico, citizens intervened to detain individuals accused of using knives to attack others.

In Izúcar de Matamoros, residents of the El Calvario neighborhood captured a man accused of stabbing a 16-year-old girl. The attack occurred near the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) facilities on Eje Poniente. The victim sustained wounds to her right side, specifically the ribs and abdomen, and was rushed to a regional hospital. The suspect attempted to flee into a local restaurant but was apprehended by bystanders before being handed over to municipal police and the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) on charges including attempted feminicide.

In Cedral, residents of the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood confronted a 23-year-old man identified as Javier, who was reportedly attacking neighbors with a sharp object. The group managed to disarm the individual and beat him, resulting in a skull injury. Municipal security and civil protection arrived at the scene to provide medical assistance and take the suspect into custody.
