Citizens Movement for Change challenges Minister Ngafuan's credibility
The opposition Citizens Movement for Change (CMC) has challenged the credibility of Liberian Finance and Development Planning Minister Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan following his 179th National Flag Day oration.
While the CMC acknowledged the speech as eloquent and patriotic, the party argued there is a significant gap between the government’s stated principles and its actual financial performance. The CMC specifically cited audit gaps, a large revenue reconciliation shortfall, and underfunded oversight institutions as evidence of this discrepancy.
The party stated that the Minister’s primary issue is credibility rather than eloquence, asserting that public trust must be demonstrated through measurable outcomes and transparent financial records rather than just rhetoric.
