Citroën unveils second-generation C5 Aircross SUV
Citroën has introduced the second generation of the C5 Aircross, a C-segment SUV built on the Stellantis STLA Medium platform. Developed in France and assembled at the Stellantis plant in Rennes, the vehicle emphasizes passenger comfort through Advanced Comfort seats featuring high-density foam and a Progressive Hydraulic Cushion (PHC) suspension system.
The new model utilizes an ‘Aerodesign’ philosophy to optimize aerodynamics, achieving an SCx coefficient of 0.75. This engineering focus aims to reduce drag and increase electric driving range by approximately 30 km. The vehicle is designed with high modularity and interior space, particularly in the rear seating area, to facilitate long-distance family travel.
In specific markets like Japan, the vehicle is noted for its 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbo hybrid powertrain paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), offering a balance of efficiency and driving engagement.
