Citroën 2CV to return as electric model via Stellantis

Stellantis has announced the return of the iconic Citroën 2CV as an electric model, with the concept car set to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show. The new vehicle is part of the group’s FaSTLane 2030 strategic plan, which focuses on small, affordable urban electric vehicles.

The production of the new 2CV is expected to begin in 2028 using the E-Car platform at the Pomigliano d’Arco plant near Naples. This platform is described by the group as being focused on European, Emotion, Electric, and Environmental friendliness, with a commitment to producing cars in Europe for European consumers.

Teasers for the new model suggest it will retain symbolic design elements from the original, such as the iconic door handles. The revival marks a significant move for Stellantis as it shifts its portfolio toward compact electric mobility.
