Citroën Racing retains Cassidy and Vergne for 2026‑27 Formula E GEN4 season
Citroën Racing announced that its driver lineup will stay unchanged for the 2026‑2027 Formula E World Championship. New Zealand‑born Nick Cassidy and French veteran Jean‑Eric Vergne will again pilot the team in season 13, the first to feature the new GEN4 cars.
The GEN4 chassis can deliver up to 600 kW (815 hp) and will be the first electric single‑seater with permanent all‑wheel drive. Citroën currently sits fifth in the teams' standings with 166 points. Cassidy holds 104 points, 42 behind the leader, and remains mathematically in contention for the drivers' title.
Development of the GEN4 has included extensive testing across Europe, with over 500 km logged in a single session at Guadix and additional runs at Calafat, Andalusia and Navarra. The data gathered will guide power‑train, software and setup refinements ahead of the car’s competitive debut.
