Citroën Racing takes podium, Nick Cassidy third at Formula E Tokyo race

The inaugural night race of the Formula E Tokyo E‑Prix saw Citroën Racing secure a podium. New Zealand driver Nick Cassidy finished third, while teammate Jean‑Éric Vergne climbed from tenth to seventh after a post‑qualifying penalty.

Cassidy started seventh, conserved energy, used the mandatory Pit Boost and timed Attack Mode to overtake rivals and hold third place to the finish. Vergne also benefited from Citroën’s energy strategy. The result lifted Citroën to 138 points in the championship.

The weekend began with a minute of silence for the late team principal Cyril Blais and featured mixed weather – rain‑affected practice and hot track conditions. Both cars qualified for the duels and the podium marks Citroën’s second in the season after Shanghai.
