Citroën reports strong sales growth and new electric model developments
Citroën is experiencing significant commercial growth and strategic shifts across European markets. In Italy, the brand reported a 7% increase in overall volumes for August 2026, reaching a 3.6% market share. This growth is driven by a diverse range of vehicles, with the C3 model ranking third in general sales.
In Germany, the electric Citroën ë-C3 saw a massive surge in popularity, recording a 900% increase in sales compared to the previous year during July. The model secured a 16.5% market share in its segment, becoming the top-selling electric vehicle in the B-segment for that month.
Looking toward future product development, Stellantis is reportedly preparing a concept for a new electric 2CV, expected to debut at the 2026 Paris Motor Show. The model is envisioned as a compact, affordable electric city car. Additionally, the brand has engaged in creative marketing, such as participating in the Red Bull Flight Day in Istanbul with a flying version of the Citroën Ami.
