Citroën unveils teasers for new electric 2CV concept
Citroën has released teaser images for a new electric concept inspired by its iconic 2CV model. The prototype is scheduled for official presentation at the Paris Motor Show on October 12, 2026. The reveal will feature CEO Xavier Chardon and design lead Pierre Leclercq.
The new vehicle aims to reinterpret the original 1948 design with modern elements, including semi-circular LED light signatures, ribbed hoods, and retro door handles. Teasers also include symbolic nods to the original car's history, such as an egg carton and an umbrella.
Strategically, the project is part of Stellantis's effort to democratize electric mobility. The production version, expected to launch in 2028, is targeted at a price point below 15,000 euros to provide an affordable urban electric option for the European market.
