Citrus and basil notes gain popularity in summer perfume collections

A new citrus cologne called Agua Fresca de Mimosa Coriandrode, created by Ramon Monegal for Adolfo Domínguez and launched in 2019, pairs lemon, grapefruit and bergamot with a green, spicy heart of cilantro, jasmine and mimosa, finishing on musk and cashmere wood. The article notes that cilantro (Coriandrum sativum) has been cultivated since Neolithic times and was used in ancient Egyptian and Mycenaean perfumery.

Another piece highlights the rising use of basil (Ocimum basilicum) in summer fragrances, describing it as a fresh, vegetal note that evokes Mediterranean gardens. It lists five basil‑infused perfumes, mentions complementary herbs such as mint, rosemary and thyme, and cites the Molinard brand as an example of this trend.
