Città Sant’Angelo holds funeral for Maria Spinelli killed in Swiss rave shooting

Funeral services are being held in Città Sant’Angelo for 22-year-old Maria Spinelli, who was killed during a shooting at a rave party in Aarau, Switzerland, on August 29. The community has gathered to pay respects to the young woman, whose body was returned to Italy with assistance from the Italian Consulate in Basel.

During the services, techno music will be played in honor of Spinelli’s passions. Her mother, Gulmira Israilova, expressed her profound grief, noting that Maria should be celebrated as she lived.

The father of the 43-year-old suspect, who is believed to be responsible for the shooting, issued an apology through the Swiss newspaper ‘Le Quotidien Jurassien’. He stated, ‘We apologize for our son,’ and noted that the individual had suffered from severe psychiatric disorders and received a 100% disability pension. While the parents were aware of his interest in weapons, they claimed they were unaware he possessed such a large quantity.
