A 22-year-old motorcyclist from Bassano del Grappa died following a single-vehicle accident in Cittadella, near Padua. The incident occurred around 00:15 on the night between Tuesday, September 1, and Wednesday, September 2.
According to preliminary reports, the young man lost control of his motorcycle near a roundabout on via Mottinello at the intersection with via Nazionale. He veered off the road and struck a tree with great force. The impact caused the motorcycle to catch fire, while the rider was thrown onto the asphalt.
Emergency medical services arrived at the scene, but the victim's injuries were fatal. Firefighters were also required to extinguish the flames from the vehicle. Carabinieri from the Gazzo Padovano station are conducting investigations to determine the exact cause of the loss of control, though no other vehicles appear to have been involved.
