City Connection announces Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Jong REMASTER for 2027

City Connection has announced 'Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Jong REMASTER', a high-definition remaster of the dramatic mahjong game based on the 'Higurashi no Naku Koro ni' series. The title is scheduled for release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

The remaster includes three primary modes: 'Oyashiro Mode', featuring high-stakes matches with cheating mechanics; 'Club Mode' for casual play; and the 'Paikuzushi Chapter' from the previous handheld version. The game features over 7,000 animation frames and original scenarios supervised by Ryukishi07.

Additional content includes a bonus gallery with illustrations and audio dramas. The game will support Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese languages. A playable version is set to be exhibited at Tokyo Game Show 2026.
