City of London initiates process to revoke Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s honorary citizenship
The City of London Corporation has initiated formal proceedings to potentially revoke the honorary citizenship of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The honor, which he received in 2012, is being reviewed due to his past connections to Jeffrey Epstein.
The Corporation has described these connections as ‘completely unacceptable and incompatible’ with the status of an honorary citizen. This move follows a previous request from city administrators for Mountbatten-Windsor to voluntarily relinquish the title, to which he reportedly did not respond.
Chris Hayward of the City of London Corporation stated that the process will be conducted with ‘the utmost urgency.’ The individual involved will be given the opportunity to provide a written statement before a final decision is made. The case is expected to be presented to the relevant committee in December.
