City of Parramatta opens second round of free music studio residencies

The City of Parramatta has opened expressions of interest for the second round of its Music Recording Studio Residency Program. The initiative provides Western Sydney musicians, producers, and composers with free access to professional recording and rehearsal facilities for periods of one or two months.

Part of a 12-month trial to increase the affordability and accessibility of community facilities, the program aims to remove financial barriers for emerging artists. Lord Mayor Cameron MacLean stated the program is designed to provide local talent with the professional spaces necessary to develop their work.

To be eligible, applicants must be 18 or older, Australian citizens or permanent residents, and based in Western Sydney or possess a strong connection to the region. Expressions of interest close at 5:00 PM on November 2, 2026, with residencies scheduled to take place between January and June 2027.
