City of Surrey wins two economic development awards

The City of Surrey has been honored with two 2026 Excellence in Economic Development Awards from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). The awards recognize the city’s efforts in fostering business growth and local economic strength.

Surrey earned a silver award in the Postsecondary Education Partnership category for the Innovation Boulevard initiative. Developed in partnership with Simon Fraser University, the program assists businesses in adopting new technologies and has supported over 250 businesses since 2025.

The city also received a bronze award in the Innovative Economic Development category for the Surrey Agritech Strategy 2026. This strategy focuses on providing practical technology solutions and fostering collaboration to support the productivity and resilience of local farmers and producers.
