Citytv to launch Dateline Canada with host Diana Swain

Dateline Canada Citytv Diana Swain true crime Elizabeth Bain case

Citytv is launching Dateline Canada, marking the first international expansion of NBC’s long-running Dateline newsmagazine franchise. The program, hosted by journalist Diana Swain, is set to premiere on November 26 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Citytv and Citytv+.

The inaugural two-hour special will investigate the 1990 disappearance of Elizabeth Bain, a University of Toronto student. The episode will re-examine the case, including the wrongful conviction of Bain’s former boyfriend, Robert Baltovich, who was later acquitted after prosecutors dropped charges. The production team states they have uncovered an unreported police investigation through an extensive review of police records.
