Ciudad del Plata inaugurates new football field with LED lighting
A new synthetic grass football field and high-efficiency LED lighting system have been inaugurated in the Monte Grande neighborhood of Ciudad del Plata, San José. The project was completed through a coordinated effort involving multiple levels of government and public entities.
UTE managed the installation of 16 LED luminaires (160 W each) mounted on four concrete columns as part of the National Plan for the Lighting of Children's and Recreational Football Fields. The investment by UTE for the lighting system was approximately $16,700. The site was provided by the National Administration of Public Education (ANEP), while the Office of Planning and Budget (OPP) funded the synthetic turf.
The facility will serve the Monte Grande Club and local educational institutions. Officials, including Secretary of the Presidency Alejandro Sánchez and UTE President Andrea Cabrera, emphasized that the project aims to provide safe spaces for children to practice sports and learn values through community integration.
