Chihuahua and Oaxaca face disruptions due to violence and social conflict

Violence and social conflicts have led to widespread cancellations and suspensions across several Mexican regions. In Chihuahua, the municipalities of Nonoava and Carichí have suspended school activities and patriotic celebrations due to insecurity and armed confrontations between criminal groups and the Mexican Army.

In Oaxaca, the number of municipalities suspending Independence Day festivities has risen to ten due to internal political and social conflicts. Affected areas include the Sierra de Flores Magón, Sierra Norte, Mixteca, Sierra Sur, Costa, and Cuenca del Papaloápam regions.

In Ciudad Juárez, authorities have taken several enforcement actions. The State Directorate of Government has closed three establishments in Plaza Portales, including the nightclubs Kiddo and La Bendita, following reports of women being left unconscious outside the venues. Additionally, a violent robbery in the Gustavo Díaz Ordaz neighborhood resulted in the death of a local merchant and left a relative seriously injured. In a separate incident, security forces seized firearms and significant quantities of ammunition during a search in the La Cuesta neighborhood.
