Ciudad Juárez authorities close terrace after child near-drowning
Authorities in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, have closed the Jardín Arana terrace following an accident where a six-year-old boy was found unconscious in a swimming pool. The child was rescued after being submerged and was rushed to a hospital in critical condition with a reserved prognosis.
Investigations revealed that the establishment, located in the Campestre Virreyes neighborhood, was operating without the necessary permits and lacked lifeguards. The closure of Jardín Arana is part of a broader enforcement campaign by the Subsecretaría de Gobernación, which conducted 353 inspections of alcohol-related businesses between August 24 and August 30. This period resulted in 23 closures across the state, including several other businesses in Ciudad Juárez sanctioned for permit violations and other regulatory infractions.
