Jalisco Prosecutor links 70 individuals to criminal proceedings for violence against women

The Jalisco State Prosecutor's Office has secured the formal linking of 70 individuals to criminal proceedings following investigations conducted in late July. These investigations targeted a wide range of offenses committed between 2022 and 2026, including domestic violence, femicide, sexual abuse, homicide, kidnapping, and human trafficking.

Of the 70 accused, 56 were brought to trial via judicial summons, nine were apprehended through arrest warrants, and four were caught in flagrante delicto. The crimes were distributed across several municipalities, with the highest concentrations in Guadalajara (19 cases), Zapopan (14), Tlajomulco de Zúñiga (11), and San Pedro Tlaquepaque (10).

Evidence indicates that the majority of the perpetrators were within the victims' close social or affective circles, such as spouses, partners, relatives, or known acquaintances. Judicial authorities have imposed various precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the victims and the integrity of the legal process; 50 individuals are subject to alternative measures, seven are in preventive detention due to the severity of the crimes, and the remainder have entered conditional suspension of the process.
