US border security uses lasers to neutralize 300 drones

The United States government reported that 300 drones, allegedly linked to criminal groups, have been neutralized along the Mexican border this year. A significant portion of these operations utilized the new AMP-HEL high-energy laser system. The Army first deployed this laser technology for border protection on August 24, successfully neutralizing 11 unmanned aircraft by September 4. Authorities stated that transnational criminal organizations use these drones for smuggling and monitoring law enforcement personnel.

In Ciudad Juárez, municipal authorities have removed over 80 kilometers of obsolete aerial cabling, totaling more than six tons of material. The program, which aims to reduce visual pollution and improve urban order, is targeting the Historic Center next. Officials are working to expand the initiative to include major infrastructure providers like Telmex and CFE.

Other regional developments include the start of a 150 million peso elevated roadway project in the Valle del Sol sector to improve traffic flow. Additionally, the Canacintra Chihuahua organization warned that the revocation of visas for truck operators could increase logistics costs by up to 800 dollars per crossing and cause delays of approximately three days. In a separate security incident, the National Guard rescued two migrants and arrested six armed individuals in the San Isidro area of Ciudad Juárez.
