Athletic and charity races held across Latin America
Various athletic events and charity races are taking place across Latin America, focusing on health, solidarity, and community engagement.
In Bogotá, Colombia, Alejandra Sánchez won the 10K category at the 19th Carrera de la Mujer, an event that drew over 15,000 participants. In Quito, Ecuador, the Sociedad Ecuatoriana de Cardiología is organizing its 10th Carrera del Corazón to promote cardiovascular prevention and raise funds for the Fundación Metrofraternidad.
Mexico has seen significant participation in several regional races. The 57th Carrera Internacional de la Amistad in Ciudad Juárez attracted over 8,000 runners, featuring competitive and recreational routes. In Pachuca, the 21st Carrera FUL saw nearly 40,000 participants. Other local events include the 'Corre por Cada Gota' race in Guanajuato to support SIMAPAG and an upcoming inclusion-focused race in Reynosa to raise awareness for the visually impaired.
In Uruguay, the 'Florida corre con vos' initiative will combine sports with social support for local community institutions.
