Ciudad Juárez hosts Juárez Juangabrielísimo festival to honor Juan Gabriel

The Juárez Juangabrielísimo 2026 festival concluded in Ciudad Juárez, marking the tenth anniversary of the passing of the Mexican singer Juan Gabriel. The event drew significant crowds, with over 20,000 people attending activities at the Plaza de la Mexicanidad and approximately 8,000 visiting the singer's home.

Mayor Héctor Rafael Ortiz Orpinel highlighted the festival's success in attracting visitors from various Mexican states, noting its positive impact on the local economy and the city's image. The closing ceremony featured a musical tribute by singer Luis Antonio López, known as ‘El Mimoso,’ who performed several of the ‘Divo de Juárez’s’ most iconic songs.

During the event, a commemorative plaque was presented to Jean Aguilera, Juan Gabriel's youngest son, in recognition of his father's legacy. Additionally, the city council has established ‘Juan Gabriel Day’ in Ciudad Juárez.

In a separate tribute to the artist's enduring legacy, Amazon Music is celebrating the singer through curated playlists, an Amazon Music Original featuring Arthur Hanlon and Thalia, and a commemorative collectible vinyl release.
