Ciudad Juárez launches four 'Punto Limpio' containers for bulky household waste

The municipal 'Punto Limpio a tu Colonia' program placed four large‑capacity waste containers in Ciudad Juárez on Friday. The sites are: • Colonia Azteca – streets Tepanecas and Géminis • Colonia Tierra Nueva – intersection of Puerto Huelva and Puerto La Coruña • Roma Poniente – Plaza de San Pedro and Plaza Berberini • Colonia Pánfilo Natera – Nochiztlán between Pavo Real and Flamingo The containers remain in place until Monday 6 July, offering residents a designated place to dispose of bulky domestic items such as tires, furniture and other unused objects. Program director Gibran Solís Kanahan noted that the containers are replaced over the weekend if demand is high, with some neighborhoods able to receive up to two replacements in a single day. He emphasized that the service is intended only for household waste and does not accept soil, construction debris, hazardous material, or commercial tire‑related waste. The initiative aims to improve proper waste handling in areas where regular garbage collection does not cover large‑volume items, encouraging community participation while preventing improper disposal.
