Ciudad Juárez merchants donate 1,600 gifts to firefighters

Merchants and leaders from 70 local markets in Ciudad Juárez have organized the fifth annual gift delivery to the Heroico Cuerpo de Bomberos in recognition of their service. The event, coordinated by the Dirección de Regulación Comercial, was held ahead of Firefighters' Day on August 22.

Participants collected over 1,600 individual items, which were organized into 650 packages for the members of the corporation. The donations included cleaning kits, home theaters, televisions, and other goods, as well as monetary contributions from certain market leaders.

City officials, including Secretary of the City Council Miguel Mendoza Escamilla, expressed gratitude for the community's gesture, noting that such recognition is vital for the morale of the firefighters who risk their lives to assist citizens during fires and other disasters.
