Ciudad Juárez offers free mammography services for cancer prevention

The municipal government of Ciudad Juárez is providing year-round free mammography services to women over the age of 40 to promote early cancer detection. Through the Medical Coordination of Community Centers, the program operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM at four specific locations: Olivia Espinoza, Palo Chino, José Refugio Sánchez, and Granjas de Chapultepec.

In addition to providing high-quality imaging, the program offers follow-up care. If a suspicious result is identified, patients are referred to a radiologist for an ultrasound. In cases where cancer is confirmed, the coordination provides support to help patients access specialized medical institutions, particularly for those without existing health insurance.

Complementary health initiatives have also been conducted, such as recent screening jornadas that provided mammographies, Pap smears, and prostate antigen tests. Health professionals emphasize that early detection is critical as they observe an increasing number of younger patients presenting with breast and cervical cancer.
