Unidentified body wrapped in blanket discovered in Ciudad Juárez
A body covered in a green blanket with blood stains was found early Sunday morning on a dirt street in the Ampliación Juanita Luna neighborhood of Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. Police were alerted at 3:01 a.m. after a passerby reported the discovery near the intersection of Caborca and Marcelo Caraveo, close to CBTIS 269 and a construction site. The victim was dressed in blue denim pants and black sandals, and was lying beside a ravine opposite a house under construction.
Municipal police cordoned off the area while investigators from the state prosecutor's office began a homicide inquiry. The identity of the deceased has not yet been established and no arrests have been reported. The incident brings the homicide count in Ciudad Juárez to 34 for June, according to local media tracking.
