Ciudad Juárez police arrest woman in 400,000-peso bank robbery

Authorities in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, have detained a 37-year-old woman, identified as Érika J. M., for her alleged involvement in a violent robbery of 400,000 pesos from a bank customer.

The incident began when a victim reported being intercepted by an armed individual in a Toyota Corolla shortly after withdrawing funds for a business. Using the Plataforma Centinela surveillance system, state police tracked the vehicle to an abandoned location and subsequently followed a second vehicle to a residence in the Infonavit Tecnológico neighborhood.

Upon arrival, the woman reportedly acted hostily and assaulted a female officer. She then allegedly offered 81,000 pesos in cash to the police to avoid arrest and admitted to assisting the primary suspect, who fled the scene with the remaining stolen funds. The suspect and the attempted bribe money have been turned over to the State Attorney General's Office for investigation into robbery and bribery.
