Ciudad Juárez resident claims innocence after kidnapping rescue arrest
Family members of Arturo E. P. are claiming his innocence following his arrest during a police operation in Ciudad Juárez. The arrest occurred after municipal police rescued 11 people from a residence in the Ampliación Felipe Ángeles neighborhood.
According to the family, Arturo is a bricklayer who had been hired to perform bathroom renovations at the property. They claim neighbors can testify that he was working on-site and that no suspicious noises were heard prior to the police intervention. The family also alleged that Arturo was subjected to physical abuse by municipal agents during the arrest.
In contrast, the Municipal Public Security Secretariat reported that Arturo was detained alongside Abel C. G. in possession of two firearms, various cartridges, and tactical equipment. The suspects have been placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Ministry as authorities determine their legal status.
